Join our long-term study at Mushara—the research-only waterhole in northeastern Etosha—led by Dr. Caitlin O’Connell, a 30-year veteran and leading authority on elephant social behavior. Donor volunteers live and work with our team in a solar-powered desert camp built around a three-story observation tower. Under Dr. O’Connell’s direction, you’ll contribute to daily elephant IDs, behavioral logs, and camp operations. Expect a fenced boma, bush shower/toilet, shared tents—and wildlife moving through day and night. This is real fieldwork, not a lodge stay. Sessions run in 1–2-week blocks (June–August). Your donor participation directly underwrites the field season.
A rigorous, once-in-a-lifetime immersion with unmatched access to elephant families and the scientist who helped decode their society.
